Getting started with Softdisc

Three small steps. A little practice. Up to 12 hours of freedom.

Pinch

Wash your hands, then pinch Softdisc in half so the rim forms a narrow figure eight.

Insert

Slide it back and down toward the cervix as far as it comfortably goes.

Tuck

Tuck the front rim behind the pubic bone. When it is placed correctly, you should not feel it.

Will I be able to feel it?

When Softdisc is positioned correctly, you should not be able to feel it. If it feels uncomfortable, remove it and try again after reviewing the placement instructions.

Can I sleep or swim in Softdisc?

Softdisc is designed for protection while sleeping, swimming, and exercising, for up to 12 hours of wear.

Can I wear it during sex?

Softdisc can be worn during penetrative vaginal sex because it sits at the base of the cervix rather than blocking the vaginal canal. It is not a contraceptive and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

What if it leaks when I use the bathroom?

Bearing down can cause some fluid to release. The existing Softdisc guidance says this does not necessarily mean the disc needs to be changed; retuck the rim behind the pubic bone afterward.
