How It Works.

Inserting

After washing your hands, sit on the toilet and carefully take Softdisc out of the wrapper.

Pinch in half and slowly slide into the vaginal canal pushing back and down toward the cervix as far as it will comfortably go (typically the length of your index finger).

Use your finger to tuck the rim behind your pubic bone, so it rests slightly diagonally.

Removing

Wash your hands and sit on the toilet. Hook your finger under the front edge pulling straight out and keeping Softdisc parallel to the floor.

Empty the contents of the disc in the toilet and either wrap in toilet paper or use the included disposal wrapper before placing in the trash.

Wearing

Once Softdisc is inserted, you can comfortably wear for 12 hours. Softdisc can be worn during exercise, swimming, using the bathroom, and even during sexual intercourse.

Note that It is normal to experience some leaking while using the bathroom as you are bearing down on your pelvic muscles. This does not mean that your disc needs to be changed. After using the bathroom, you can retuck the rim behind the pubic bone to ensure that it is securely placed.

Frequently asked questions.

Will Softdisc fit me?

Softdisc was designed to fit the majority of menstruators, regardless of age. As every user has a unique internal shape and size, there is a small chance that Softdisc may not work for you. If Softdisc does not fit, we recommend you try our sister brand FLEX.

Learn about the differences between Softdisc and FLEX here.

Is Softdisc a menstrual cup?

No, a common misconception is that Softdisc is a disposable menstrual cup. Softdisc is actually a menstrual disc which sits in a completely different part of the body than a menstrual cup. Due to the placement of a menstrual disc at the base of the cervix, the vaginal canal is clear which means you don’t experience the discomfort, dryness and irritation that you may with a menstrual cup. Likewise, because there is nothing plugging the vaginal canal, it means that you can actually have sexual intercouse while wearing Softdisc.

Can I use Softdisc if I have a heavy period?

Yes, Softdisc holds the equivalent of 5 tampons (or 3 super tampons) making it ideal for people with heavy periods. Menstrual discs are also the preferred product choice for women with medical conditions that cause heavy periods including Endometriosis, PCOS, and Menorrhagia.

Is Softdisc safe?

Yes, Softdisc is FDA-cleared and safe to wear for 12 hours. It is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, BPA & phthalate free and made without natural rubber latex or silicone. Menstrual discs are also the only internally-worn product not linked to TSS.
